Giraffe Baby Shower Card

I was so excited to find a card in my stash and the colors worked with the giraffes I previously colored and had pink for a baby shower card. Bonus was getting to use my Lawn Fawn Lift the Flap die (S/LF) for the first time.

What a sweet surprise for the front of the card! Originally I was going to put the giraffes on the front but they got lost in the pattern. That's when I thought of using the flap for added interest and for allowing the giraffes to really shine.

I removed the patterned paper from its original pink background cardstock. It had been in my stash so long that the adhesive squares (that I thought were acid-free) had altered the color of the card base. Happily, I found pink cardstock (HL) that matched even better than the original. I cut a flap in the patterned paper before attaching it to the new card base.

I stamped and clear embossed the sentiment on a scrap of pink cardstock. I added brown cardstock behind that and then used craft foam behind the stack.

I tucked the sweet mama kissing her baby giraffe inside the flap. The sentiment and giraffe stamps are from Local King Rubber Stamp's Love Reaches New Heights stamp set (LK).

I added standing mama with her baby on the inside. I also hand-wrote a blessing for the recipient.

I'm very happy with the way this card turned out and also happy to find a use for that patterned paper after all these years!

Blessings,

Julie
