8 Card Gift Set

I made this set of cards to give as a birthday gift to a friend. My daughter helped me tremendously so I could finish on time.

My friend liked her gift and her favorite card is the one with the sheep. She also was happy that there are a few cards that look more masculine.

To streamline the process a little, I batched all my work as I worked on this project. I started by coloring a whole bunch of stamped images with my nuvo alcohol markers (S). Next I chose coordinating patterned paper and cardstock for each colored image. Then I used The Paper Cut (PC) card making dies. I stamped sentiments for each card, and added coordinating mats if needed. I inked up edges where necessary before gluing.

The adorable sheep stamp (EC) is an Endless Creations stamp. I used a lot of their stamps on these cards. The sentiment is also EC. The floral paper is from my stash. The teal paper is from Entirely Textures pad (HL). The twine is Prima. I inked the edges with Evergreen Bough distress ink (S). I used Triple Circle Card Making die (PC).

This bees card is my daughter's favorite of the cards in this set. She likes the hexagons. I like that it's not traditional bee colors with the addition of blue along with normal yellow and black. Bee image stamp is from Crackerbox Palace. Bee sentiment stamp is from Endless Creations (EC). Blue hexagon paper is from Penny Black's Gentle Whisper paper pad (PB). I edged with Stormy Sky distress ink (S).

The cute ladybug stamps (EC) and dotted circle stamp (EC) are from Endless Creations . Happy Wishes sentiment from Our Daily Bread Designs' Mini Tag Sentiments stamp set (OBD). Sentiments are stamped with Memento Ink (HL). Edged with Barn Door distress ink (S). Happy Birthday stamp and floral paper are from my stash.

Owls (EC) and Circle outline (EC) stamps are from Endless Creations. As with the ladybugs and several of her other stamps, we like that she has mirror image stamps included in a stamp set.

Hip Hip Hooray stamp is Lawn Fawn (S). The masculine patterned paper is from Pink & Main's Be Brave paper pad (PM). Navy paper is from Entirely Textures paper pad (HL). Edged with Chipped Sapphire distress ink (S).

The birds stamps are Endless Creations (EC). Sentiment Stamp is again from OBD's Mini Tag Sentiments stamp set. Floral paper is from Penny Black Gentle Whisper paper pad (PB). Edged in Peacock Feathers distress ink (S). Aqua Paper also from Entirely Textures paper pad. Pink dotted paper from Pebbles Basics paper pad (HL).

My daughter helped me color this adorable lion. She helped with shading and adding grass where there wasn't any before. She thought he needed some grass to sit on. Lion stamp (EC) and dotted outline stamp (EC) are also Endless Creations stamps. Lion Sentiment is an Inky Antics stamp (IA). Edged with Fossilized Amber distress ink (S). Pale yellow paper is from Entirely Textures paper pad. Dotted gold paper from my stash. Top Note Card Making Die is from The Paper Cut (PC).

I blame my sister and my daughter that I now own this cute gnome stamp from Prickley Pear (PP). My sister told me about their July card kit (PP). I don't normally like gnome or mushroom stuff but this was an adorable set...apparently too adorable! I had almost talked myself out of getting it but then I asked my daughter what she thought. She helped talk me into getting the kit instead of talking me out of it! I already colored another gnome and a mushroom and they will be showing up on a different card soon.

I also used Top Note outline stamp from Endless Creations (EC) to coordinate with the Top Note Card Making Die (PC) and Top Note layering die set (PC). I used more paper from Pink & Main's Be Brave pad (PM). I edged in Chipped Sapphire distress ink. I used navy textured cardstock (HL). Birthday sentiment stamp is from my stash.

For my final card in this set, I used the Triple Flag Card Making Die (PC) and flag layering dies (PC) and an adorable cactus stamp from Pink and Main (PM). I combined sentiments from the cactus stamp set as well as an Endless Creations set (EC). The multi-colored dotted paper is from P&M's Beach Babe paper pad (PM). The pink dotted paper is from Pebbles Basics paper pad. I edged with Peacock Feathers distress ink.

Finally I worked on the inside of the cards, choosing coordinating papers and deciding on an inside sentiment for each card. Sentiment stamp is also from Endless Creations (EC).

The cactus card is the only one I took a picture of. I had to save time to wrap the gift!

I still have a bunch of colored images and a few cards already in the process that I set aside when I realized I could only reasonably finish eight cards in the time I had left. This was a more involved project than I imagined when I started! You can see a few of the images that will be showing up in future cards.

I added a few more details to the cards than I originally planned because the cards just looked unfinished. To speed things up, I had determined not to add ink around the edges, but once I pulled out the ink for just one card it ended up being all the cards!

Blessings,

Julie
