50th Anniversary Card

Fifthtieth Anniversary Card featuring vintage travelers, alcohol markers and covered bridge paper.

I stamped the couple from Technique Junkies Vintage Travel Cases on my new favorite paper.

White Cougar Opaque 80lb. from The Paper Cut is a smooth paper that takes ink beautifully and allows for alchohol marker coloring without pilling after a few layers of coloring.

I colored the image with Nuvo alcohol markers. I am thrilled with their new colors, especially from their corals and aquamarine sets. I'm also pleased with how the new shades coordinate with the older sets. After I colored the image I fussy cut around the border. Then I cut a piece of craft foam and glued that to the back of the image.

I stamped the sentiment on a scrap of paper. I trimmed the scrap with deckle edge scissors, and inked it with distress ink.

I immediately fell in love with Ken Oliver's Covered Bridges paper but loving the way it looks and using it turned out to be two different things. I am excited to finally find a way to use a sheet from the pack! I trimmed the sheet to 5 3/4 x 5 3/4" then distressed and inked the edges. I cut a 6x6" piece of brown paper for a border. I glued both papers together and then adhered that piece to a 6x6" green card base. I glued the sentiment and image to the top, framing the couple in the covered bride opening.

Since I don't have envelopes for 6x6" cards I made a custom envelope with my WRMK envelope punch board. It's quick and easy to make envelopes with the punch board. An added bonus is using up more patterned paper. (I may have a surplus!)

Blessings,

Julie
