Ten Minute Penguin Card

I needed to make a quick card for my daughter. Here are the instructions for my ten minute card*:

1. Start with a color layering bundle set from Hero Arts and Scrapbook.com (penguin layering set).

2. Get white paper to stamp the penguin. Pull the penguin stamps off the plastic backing and begin stamping. Realize you have placed them in the wrong order and need to start again. Set the penguin aside to see if it can be salvaged at a later time. + 5 Minutes

2. (start again) Get white paper, make sure the penguin stamps are in the right order and stamp them using the provided ink cubes for the exact right shades. + 5 minutes

3. Stamp the sentiment with the provided black ink. + 1 minute

4. Die cut the penguin with the die cut that comes with the layering set. Die cut sentiment using a flag banner (The Paper Cut) + 2 minutes

5. Remember you have a super cute sparkly glitter card and envelope from DCWV that you can use for the base. Glue the penguin and sentiment to the glitter card. + 2 minutes.

6. Don't do what I did and be careful the first time you begin stamping. - 5 minutes!!

*All times are approximate as I didn't actually time myself. It did not take long to do all the steps. It was very late at night when I started and I waited until the morning to glue everything down until after I got approval from the one needing the card.

Normally I would try to add extra things, but we didn't have time for me to bling it up any more than the glitter on the card. Most importantly, the recipient loved it.

Despite myself, it was easy to use. I am definitely interested in more of those color layering bundle sets now.

Penguins are a favorite around our house. If you are wondering, the penguin's name is Pablo. Almost all penguins are named Pablo at our house. There is a cute book called The Penguin That Hated the Cold, and that penguin's name is Pablo. My husband loves penguins, but hates the cold, so it's the perfect penguin story at our house.

Blessings,

Julie
