Darcie's Wooly Lamb plus product review on Nuvo Hybrid Ink

How cute is this lamb from the adorable Wooly Good stamp set from Darcie's? I loved the play on words with the sentiment. I practiced more coloring with my 'Stormy Greys' Nuvo creative pens. (MMI/S)

I was excited to try the 'Metro Grey' Nuvo Hybrid Ink Pad. (MMI) It's designed to work with water-based and alcohol pens. I am very impressed with how it stamped. I got a crisp image the very first stamp. I stamped the image three times to get the color saturation level I wanted on my watercolor paper; but I didn't need to re-stamp it to fix any missing parts of the image. It stamped three times very well with no feathering on the extra layers. It also didn't feather or move when I used my creative pens. Based on this, I would recommend the Nuvo Hybrid Ink. I'll continue using it and keep you updated on what I think in a few months.

I used my Tim Holtz Stamp Platform (MP/S) for the multiple stampings on both the lamb and the sentiment. (Thanks again to Marco's Paper for bringing my stamp platform to the rubber stamp convention instead of making me wait for shipment. I appreciate their prompt response to my email.)

I stamped the sentiment with 'Majestic Violet' Archival Ink (MP/S), and then embossed it with clear embossing powder. I think this is the first time I've tried embossing with Archival ink. Although I knew it was possible to emboss with it, I wasn't sure how well it would work on the watercolor paper, but it worked perfectly.

I used a Lifestyle Crafts hexagon die for the purple paper and a tag die from Tim Holtz/Sizzix Framelits for the sentiment. I added Purple & White 'Bakers Twine' by Hemptique to the tag. I used the same purple textured paper for the base. Then I cut a grey polka dotted paper from Pebbles 'basics' paper pad. I adhered it all together and on an A2 size (4 1/4" x 5 1/2") white card.

I bought an Acorn Brown Nuvo Hybrid ink pad (MMI) at the same time as I ordered the Metro Grey. I've been searching for the 'Black Shadow' ink pad for months. It's been out of stock for quite a while from the places I've looked to order it from. Based on my use of the Metro Grey ink pad, now I want to get the black ink pad even more!

As of when I am writing this post, I do not have any affiliate links that I've used. I have ordered from, been extremely pleased with the service from, and recommend these online stores: Maymade Made It (MMI), Marco's Paper (MP), and Scrapbook.com (S).

I hope you have 'a wooly good day' !!

Julie
